About: The Teachers
ANN FLANNERY
Ann owns and operates THE BARN. I've practiced Yoga since 1990 and was certified as a teacher in 2000 at the Kripalu Yoga Center. I completed my 500 hour advanced level teacher training in 2007. I continue to study, with humility and respect, Yoga philosophy and methodologies (Iyengar, Anusara) and incorporate these into my teaching. I am honored with the opportunity to share and witness the benefits and joy that the practice brings.
KARA DOUGLAS
My exploration of Yoga began with an Iyengar practice in 1999, followed by two years of training in the Astanga tradition. Certified to teach Kripalu Yoga in January 2005, I currently incorporate all three traditions into my classes with a primary focus on Kripalu Yoga. As a writer, artist and Yoga instructor, I find inspiration in the rhythms of the natural world, seeking to illuminate and celebrate the interconnected nature of life.
KAREN PERRY
I have been a student of Yoga for over 20 years and have been teaching since my 1995 Kripalu certification & advanced certification in 1997. My teaching style is eclectic. I'm strongly influenced by BKS Iyengar's teachings and John Friend's Anusara Yoga. I've studied with master teachers in both tradtions. I am lightly spiritual, committed to not taking life too seriously and am grateful for the opportunity to receive and share through Yoga.
VANDANA SPENCER
Vandana Spencer, RYT, experienced an intensive spiritual awakening thirteen years ago, which led her to spend six months in India where she began her study and practice of yoga. Yoga has continued to be a critical and important part of her spiritual journey. Vandana views yoga as a way of life for the body, mind and spirit. She believes that each person needs to be honored and recognized on their own individual physical, mental and spiritual levels, advancing them as they are ready to embrace harmony and union with the universe.
